linux.conf.au is a conference about Open Source Software, including Linux that brings together the world’s community of Linux enthusiasts who contribute to the Linux operating system and the vast array of free and open source software that is transforming information technology across the globe.

This is the 2nd time LCA has been held in New Zealand, with Dunedin hosting the conference in 2006. Hosted each year in one of Australasia’s major centres, in 2010 linux.conf.au will be hosted by New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington.

linux.conf.au is about free and open source software, especially Linux. It is a technical conference which attracts some of the brightest minds in the world. It is run by the community, for the community.

If you are new to free and open source software, attending linux.conf.au is a great way to get a head start. You’ll be able to meet and talk with like-minded people and learn about the projects you can contribute to.

For seasoned attendees, linux.conf.au is an opportunity to catch up with old friends, see what new friends are currently working on and see first-hand what the future of free and open source software will be.
When is it on?

linux.conf.au will be held in Wellington, New Zealand from Monday 18 January to Saturday 23 January. Make a note in your diary now and expect to see Wellington at its very best!
