Turn up wearing/carrying something Ubuntu related* so we can easily see who you are, look for the people with Ubuntu stickers/signs (stickers might be distributed if you forget to “brand yourself Ubuntu”) who should be hanging around the foyer and then once people have assembled we can go and wander around. There isn’t an organised tour.
*That doesn’t include covering your kid(s) in Ubuntu stickers and carrying/bringing them along! Children are welcome, but obviously they remain the responsibility of their parent(s)!

CUSEC is the Canadian University Software Engineering Conference, an annual conference about the most interesting topics in software engineering organized for and by students from universities across Canada. What makes CUSEC unique is that it is the only software specific conference that targets students. This means that the presentations you’ll see at CUSEC will be about things that matter to you, not just things that matter to professional developers. That doesn’t mean that the speakers we get are nobodies, either. Past speakers include Richard Stallman, David Lorge Parnas, Kathy Sierra, Ralph Johnson, Kent Beck, Alistair Cockburn, Dave Thomas, Tim Bray and many more. This year as well we’ll have a top notch line-up of speakers and academic presentations for you, so don’t miss it!
This year, our theme will be GOTO 10
As trends in software come and go, we find ourselves returning to concepts from the past. As the popularity of cloud computing, dynamic languages and embedded devices continues to grow, we’re experiencing a re-emergence of the same themes and constraints that were the norm not so long ago. It is in this context that CUSEC 2010 seeks to explore what solutions from the past can be used for the challenges of tomorrow.
