BarCampManchester is 2-day unconference where there
are no pre-determined streams or tracks; the content of the weekend is
determined on the day by those attending. Every attendee is expected to
either give a talk or host a panel or participate in some fashion.
BarCampManchester2 is an overnight event, you will be able to sleep at
the venue should you wish.

Bi-Monthly Bournemouth Pub Meeting of the DLUG. Two or three hours of beer and chat, not necessarily entirely about Linux.

The Scottish Open Source Awards events brings together some of Scotland’s finest technologists and technology leaders to celebrate the achievements of the community of individuals and companies that contribute to the global strength of Open Source software. The awards event is on Friday November 20th at the new and prestigious Forum Building at Edinburgh University Informatics. Tickets are free!!

Joint meeting of the Hampshire and Surrey Linux Users Groups in Farnborough. Contant either LUG for details of how to get to the meeting and how to get in. You do not need to be a member to get in, but for security reasons you can’t just turn up unannounced. This our workshop/install-fest/chance for a geeky chat & a drink. If you’re bringng a laptop, try to make sure it’s as fully charged as possible.

Tea and coffee is available. There is a good selection of beers which are well looked after. Look out for someone sitting next to an Hewlett-Packard penguin with a laptop in front of him. The topic of the meeting will be a general discussion or we can fix some hardware or software. If you need some help with that we can most likely point you in the right direction. If you want to know more about anything else come along and ask questions.

We can cope with just about any question about hardware or software. Any version of GNU/Linux or BSD. More than a few EeePCS are being used at meetings. We shall raffle off a couple of copies of issue 79 of Linux User and Developer Magazine. Save yourself some money and come along !
